I was a team member of the CLO 3D team at Abercrombie & Fitch pushing our digital sampling initiative across the company. I mainly use CLO to support my cross functional team's ease in decision making, especially with 2-to-get-to-1 design details. I also use it internally to check pattern revisions and develop confidence before requesting another physical fit sample. Other uses have been for design presentations for carryover blocks that simply have color or print changes year to year.
In 2022, I was a part of the HCO Women's Denim team where creative and tech design teams worked to create the first CLO turntable, "This or That", Instagram story for Hollister in March 2022. The story had 40K reaches (vs 25K for campaign stories that ran the same week). 9K viewers voted. I constructed three of the blocks in the stories below (#1 CF Zip Shorts, #3 Sporty Patch Short, and #3 V- Front Black Jeans). Beyond creating blocks in CLO, I also troubleshooted render settings for appropriate motion and quality that were used in the final corporate story.
Other accomplishments:
- Created the first "rise" avatar in CLO for HCO Women's. This was created based on our low, mid, high, and ultra high rise jean placements on our fit model.
- Created 3D sleep top that will be on HCO Women's holiday gift set box for HOL23.

After sending an initial tech pack, our team received some initial fit images by which we were discouraged. The sample proportions were unlike the sketch, particular blocks did not appear to be followed, and other construction techniques normal to our regular vendors our new factory was struggling to execute. This style was additionally slotted for a test assortment with an expedited timeline compared to our normal product development calendar.
Believing in this style's potential for the category, I decided to take it into CLO 3D. Working from previous block patterns, the sketch visual, target lengths, and fit adjustments based off a dress using a similar bodice, I created a new pattern for the top and sent it off to rush in another sample.
It was a success and the team was able to put it online! Now, the style is currently sold out in almost every size for the Spring 2024 test assortment.
