I worked on Hollister Women's Skirts/Skorts January 2022 - January 2023. I initially supported at the assistant level and then was the primary lead from June 2022 - January 2023.
Some key accomplishments include the development of the Tiered Maxi Skirt, which was the bestselling women's bottom in June 2023 and yielded 995K sales for SP/SU23. Additionally, I developed the Femme Mini Skort and Knit Skater Skort, which yielded a total of 2.4M sales for SP/SU23 (see below). The grading variations also proved a fun challenge. Together with my manager we troubleshooted unique grading variations for knit and woven skirts and skorts from XXS-XXL. Determining grading for visually proportionate shirring ratios for an extended size range while also protecting minimum body widths and desirable costing was another challenge that kept us on our toes. Our knit and woven short development was a key unlock for sales and further supported the development of the Hollister Women's Dress/Romper team in their very successful rompers in 2023.
In this role, I developed all styles from initial tech pack through bulk approved fit. I first developed initial tech packs based on my creative design team's sketches and inspiration images. These tech packs include specs, construction sketches, grading, materials, and pattern direction. I measure all samples, collect landmark measurements on form, and present in fit sessions with my cross functional team including sourcing, merchants, and creative design. After fitting, I send fit comments and conduct pattern revisions through CAD patternmaking software. I also incorporate 3D virtual sampling into my process to support faster design decision making and confidence in pattern revisions. I daily communicated with overseas vendor partners on quality, grading, and production queries.
